Chapter 17 : Legendary deception

At these words, Lian Jin Yu and An Zhong Tao’s faces were a little embarrassed. An Qing Ran knew that her words would make them feel awkward. All of them could not understand her mood at the moment.

She pulled her mother with one hand and her father with the other, making them sit side by side at the end of the table. That main seat which naturally the Crown Prince came to sit. Even if she was happy, she could not possibly forget such a thing.

An Zhongtao courteously motioned to the Crown prince, but Dongfang Jin spoke up, "I'm just an ordinary guest here today, don't let my presence here delay your precious time with your family. Just pretend that Mu Han and I are not here, how about that?"

He said as he sat himself down in the seat next to him, while Lian Muhan sat down next to him. Taking advantage of the time when everyone was seated, An Qing Ran glared hard at Lian Mu Han who raised an eyebrow and winked at the latter with a sly look on his face!

When An Qing Ran took her seat next to her mother, the maids brought some soup as appetisers. Because the crown prince was eating with them. An Zhong Tao instructed the maid’s to serve him first. But Dong Fang Jin busily said : "General, if you are really so polite again, I will leave now and not disturb ......"

As soon as the crown prince said these words An Zhong Tao also relaxed a bit. On the other hand, An Qing Ran wasn’t the least bit nervous about Dong Fang Jin and Lian Mu Han sharing their table. In her eyes, these two were just children.

Having lived once, her mind had aged more than ten years.

Lian Mu Han said: "Gumu, the lights in the General's residence this year are really beautiful ......"

Lian Jin Yu said, "Are the Lian House's lanterns not good this year?"

“Good, they are good but it is the same design as all the previous years so it’s a bit less interesting...”

“Does your father know that you are here?”

"Father? Well, not really, I just told him that the Crown Prince and I would go to town to see the lanterns! Auntie, today is the Shang Yuan Festival, so I'm reunited with my auntie's family in the garden, so it's a reunion, right?"

"You child!" Lian Jin Yu laughed, she really didn't want to say anything about this nephew. She had been watching him since he was a child, and she knew that he was pure-hearted, just a little playful. As for those rumours outside, she didn't know about them, and even if she did, she felt that they were false.

Lian Mu Han looked at An Qingran and said, "BiaoMei, why is this year different from previous years? Why didn't you take Yanran out to play with the lanterns?"

An Qingran looked at him and said with a smile, "Not all habits don't change ......"

"Well, that's a good point!" Dongfang Jin looked at her with a smile under his eyes.

Lian Jin Yu was quickly saying, "Ran'er, you must not be reckless in front of the Crown Prince."

"Mother, just now he himself said not to be polite to him, I think the crown prince meant to have fun with the people ......," An Qing Ran smiled mischievously.

Dongfang Jin smiled and gave her another deep look, the corners of his mouth curled up in a meaningful smile.

Once again An Qing Ran realised that this Crown Prince wasn’t simple. A smart person such as her cousin would not mingle with just anyone. At least these two should have similar temperaments.

She looked on with a cold eye and felt a deep sense of pity. If the Crown Prince hadn't died earlier, the world of Dongze wouldn't be in the hands of Kang wang, that evil couple!

When she thought about it, she didn't even know what kind of hatred had appeared in her eyes!

Just a glimpse was already taken in by Dongfang Jin. Lian Mu Han didn't pay attention to this, he was paying attention to his aunt and uncle's expressions, and the two of them were a little too weird!

As for the matter of the General's residence, he knew better than anyone, he knew better not because he was nosy, but because he was not blind!
